Look on the Bright Side, Elara Strand Homepage

My name is Elara and, what can I say, I'm an optimist, and that's why I've chosen this title for my homepage. I’m currently a Graduate Research Assistant in one of George Mason University’s libraries. You can learn more about me and my background by clicking here.

I’ve created this homepage as part of my work for Prof. Petrik’s Creating History in New Media class, but I want to keep working on and improving it, and adding examples of projects I’m doing, as well as keep up my blog.

I'm hoping that in this website I'll be able to display my new website projects and in my blog be able to talk about some of my passions in life, like history, libraries, and world travel.

So, check out the new stuff on my site, like my Design Assignment, which goes into the journal my grandfather kept during the 1936 German Olympics. I'll be going into more detail on that for my final project that will be up by Thursday.

This summer I'll be working on a website for my grandmother who'll be turning 90 this year. That one will be about my grandmother's experiences during integration, specifically her experience as the first white person in Montgomery, Alabama to testify in favor of desegregation.
